Cambusnethan parish church was dedicated to St Nechtan. This roofless church, replacing an earlier one (NS75SE 4) was built about 1650; a N aisle was added in 1672. It was condemned as unsafe in 1837 and the present church was built (at NS 5563 8033) in 1839.

This church is a simply rectangular building with a transept and vault on the N. The W gable stands to its original height. The ruin is in good condition and its interior is used for burials.
